Sunday’s (10/7/07) Inquirer has an editorial about the new Zoning Code Commission and the efforts to overhaul the city’s outdated zoning laws. Especially interesting is reading how other cities have addressed the same issue. Boston, for example, allows neighborhoods to customize zoning districts to meet local goals. And while Philadelphia will probably take 10 years to implement new zoning code, other cities like Minneapolis accomplished it in only 2 years.
